Visitors on the ISLAND

They are on the middle right and are waving. We had a wonderful surprise, the Calls and the Krugmans were  here on a cruise ship.  It was great to see them and catch up, actually just to give them a hug.  Janice was my visiting teacher not long ago.  Don't you think that is dedication to visit in Bermuda.  I do!

Who's SNOOPING around our house?

Mary had me laughing today!  She sent us this picture and said she had been walking and couldn't resist.  HA HA!!!!! (kind of creepy though, when you stop and think about someone lurking around). So many are keeping an eye on our home........Thanks!  Julie and Gary especially.  Love you all!

"Needle and Thread Alley"

We were in St Georges one day trying to find our friend, Anna.  In trying to find her home we turned up "Needle and Thread Alley".  There could not be a more perfect name  ; 0

Spanky and Our Gang

The kids sent us this great picture.  Doesn't it remind you of summer and hanging out with all your friends?  Maybe even playing night games!  We're minus a few in the picture, but it appears they didn't even miss them.

"Better Together"

“A man is only as good as what he loves.”  "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."     Saul Bellow I read these quotes yesterday and felt the need to tell you that I love God and I love my family.  However good that makes me I’m not sure nor does it matter.  I do know they own a part of my heart.  When they hurt I hurt, when they find joy I find joy.   One can only imagine the heart of our Father in Heaven when we elude Him.  Life is short and life is precious!

"Home Away From Home"

This is home, I thought some of you may appreciate seeing where we live from a different angle.  Did you notice my flowers by the front door?  I was so excited to have a pot of flowers and two tomato plants.  Yes, I actually have tomatoes on my plants.  How could I not with this wonderful moist air, right.  It makes us feel a bit like at home.

"Breakfast of Champions"

A perfect summer morning for Henry. A little root beer, a little coco puffs, a little ipod touch, a little "shredding" on his board.  David sent this picture with the caption. Do you remember being a kid, wasn't it great! Thanks David for sharing, we love Henry!

Ready, Set, GO!

Remember when we were kids and we would race and say ready, set, go!  Well the stop lights in Bermuda make me smile every time we wait for one.  When it is getting ready to change to green , it goes to yellow and red .  Just to help us all get ready, get set, go!

"Sleep Tight Bermuda"

Coming home on an evening, after being gone for the day..........
Remember, READ very carefully .  Then tell me if this makes any sense.   Am I missing something?  Feel free to comment.

Between the Walls

Bermuda has wonderful names for it's streets.  This is one of our favorites.  We thought it was just a private drive, but it turned out to be a narrow little lane with beautiful, cozy homes residing 'just between the walls' ; ~ )
Hmmmmmm, Damsel fish or Dam selfish?  Guess it depends on what your fishing for!

Early Morning

We were up very early one morning to go exercise, but were sidetracked by the Mirabella V.  We stopped and took pictures and were able to catch this beautiful shot of the sunrise over Bermuda.

The Mirabella V

The Mirabella is the largest sloop in the world, it was launched in 2004.  They say you could put a double-decker bus in her hull.  The Mirabella is 246' 9" long and is unique because it has only one mast.  This picture does no justice for it, only that it was anchored just off North Shore where we live.  It is beautiful, quite the site to see. For any of you wanting to lease it for a week to come visit us, it is a mere $250,000.  She was anchored not far from our home. We took this picture. This is a picture taken from the their website.
This is for the "BIKE" enthusiasts in our family ; ~ )   As you can see, bicyclyes are right up there with all other modes of transportation.   Well deserving of their own parking space.

Water Trucks

Most homes here rely on fresh water that is caught from the roof of the house, but rain is just not coming.  Every once in a while we'll get a nice drench but not near the normal for this little island.  So many here have had to resort to having fresh water delivered to replenish their water tanks.  It's been interesting to observe the many trucks up and down the road.  Most of this water has to be desalinated.
You know how annoying it is when your cooking and you forget to get the butter out to soften. Well here, sitting the butter outside works faster than the microwave and much more evenly.  Isn't it great!
She is sooooo cute! Catching a ride to school with Dad. Scooters rule here in Bermuda.
We found this to be a cleverly named little Laundromat...............
This one has such a lovely entry, you can't appreciate the home enough at this angle, sorry.   I was an interior design major, so I'm always snooping & admiring homes that are well done.  Hope you'll enjoy them as well.   Aren't they great!
